Virginia Tech, officially known as Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, is renowned for its rich history in various fields. Among these is its formidable football team, which fans proudly cheer for under the nickname 'Hokies'. This school is also home to the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, significantly contributing to the field. However, it is also remembered for a tragic event that occurred in 2007, marking it in a somber yet notable chapter of its history.

Muskogee: A Niagra of Legends and Notable Figures

Muskogee, located midway between Dallas and Kansas City, has a storied past that includes the renowned Holiday Inn, which once hosted famous personalities. A sports legend, Grantland Rice, even visited one of our high schools, giving us our iconic nickname, 'The Roughers'. Our team was fiercely competitive, embodying toughness and grit, often earning our rivals a beating both on and off the field.

A Rich History and Educational Prowess in Seattle

My high school, known for its unruly and rebellious nature, held a certain intimidation factor for other schools. Our sports teams were untouchable, dominating the courts and engaging in fierce competitions across the campus. While we were not known for academic achievements, our reputation as the toughest and most competitive school in the area cannot be denied. Beyond our antics, however, the school boasts a rich heritage with records dating back to 1345, built on the site of a Roman kiln. Artifacts from the Roman era can be found on display at the entrance, testament to its ancient beginnings.

Teaching at the most writing-intensive undergraduate program in Berlin, we faced significant challenges. The sheer volume of writing was overwhelming, pushing us to the brink. Yet, this intense academic regimen prepared us exceptionally well for higher education. When the time came for my Masters, I was adept at conducting extensive research, writing detailed papers, and managing my time efficiently. The rigorous training I received was invaluable, expediting my thesis completion and allowing me to dedicate more time to my experimental work.
